Welcome to Lakehead Festival of Music and the Arts
A volunteer-based organization, the Lakehead Festival of Music and the Arts (LFMA) organizes an annual event for young people wishing to demonstrate their progress in their respective fields. We are grateful to our business and individual patrons and subscribers.
Piano, Strings, Guitar, Brass, Woodwinds, Band, Choral, Voice, Ensembles, Dance and Speech Arts are the major categories in which children participate. For more information regarding the fields listed, please visit our syllabus page.
Dawn Sebesta is the current Festival Coordinator responsible for yearly planning and activities. She is supported by a variety of liason individuals who bring a wealth of expertise to the arts as follows: Bernice Cranton, Marg Cupello, Michelle Grant, Denise Krawczuk, Olga Medvedeva, Debbie Anderson, Rose Migliazza and Betty-Ann Luoto.
The 2012 Festival season dates are as follows: Dance - March 30 - April 2, 2012 andInstrumental - April 21 - 28, 2012. Registration deadline for dance and instrumental entries is January 21, 2012. The entry forms and syllabus are now available to be downloaded.

Please join us for the Lakehead Festival of Music and the Arts Gala taking place on Thursday, May 24, 2012 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. Tickets are only $10.00 for an evening of wonderful entertainment including violinists, pianists, vocalists and dancers. Scholarships and awards will be presented at the end of the show!
